How to Enable Testing Cheats in The Sims Medieval?
Besides using codes, you can enable additional cheats in the game by editing one of its files. The TestingCheatsEnabled feature, carried over from previous The Sims games, serves as a debugging tool. To enable testing cheats: [Shortened version].
Step 1: Make sure the game isn’t running.
Step 2: Locate the Commands.ini file on your computer. If you have trouble locating it, check your computer’s settings and make sure you don’t have system files hidden.On a normal install of the game on Windows, the file is located in the following directory structure:
C://Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims Medieval/Game Data/Shared/Nonpackaged/Ini/Commands.ini.
Step 3: Copy the Commands.ini file to your desktop or somewhere else easy to locate.
Step 4: Open the copied Commands.ini file with Notepad or another plain text editor. At the bottom of the file you should see the following line of text:TestingCheatsEnabled=0 Windows users must have administrator permissions to modify the file.
Step 5: Change the zero to a 1 so it looks like this:TestingCheatsEnabled=1
Step 6: Save the file wherever you placed it. When saving, select the file type dropdown arrow and choose All Files, not Text Files.If you saved the file as Commands.ini.txt, right-click the file name to rename it and remove the trailing .txt.
Step 7: Locate the original file again and rename it BACKUPCommands.ini. That way, you can revert in case anything goes wrong.

The Sims Medieval Testing Cheats
With testing cheats enabled, press and hold the Shift key and select your letterbox to bring up the following cheat options:
- Make All Happy
- Force Visitor
- Set Career
- Set level
Hold down the Shift key and select Sims for the following options:
- Add Sim to House
- Modify Sim Traits
- Force Aging
While in Ground View mode, hold Shift and select a spot to make your Sim teleport. To force events and opportunities, hold Shift and select a Sim’s workspace.
