Macromedia Fireworks 8 was the final version of Fireworks released under the Macromedia brand following Adobe’s takeover. It was designed for web designers to create website prototypes and application interfaces quickly. Slices and the ability to insert hotspots are among their important features. It is intended to coordinate with Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash.
Macromedia Fireworks (now Adobe Fireworks) is a bitmap and vector graphics editor bought by Adobe in 2005. It was initially created using Macromedia xRes components.
The menu bar of Macromedia Fireworks 8 provides instructions for you to do everything ranging from accessing a file to implementing advanced effects to your photographs. Fireworks’ File menu is competitive with almost any other software with the same purpose. The instructions in this menu affect entire files or documents.
The Fireworks’ View menu contains instructions for determining the view of your workspace. The Windows/ MacIntosh command, along with the standard magnification, ruler, and guide commands, is available. Five options available in the Select Menu are Vector path and selection tools, Pixel selection tool, Pixel region selection tools, Convert Marquee to Path command and Save Bitmap Selection tools.
The Modify menu is Fireworks’ most often used menu. This menu offers options for changing canvas and object characteristics, stacking order, and grouping. In contrast, the Text menu allows you to change the spellings, font, paragraph settings, and alignment. All bitmap filters are available in the Filters menu; among those are the color adjustment, fading, degrees, slopes, the brightness of a mask, the level of noise added to an image, and so on.
The Commands menu in Fireworks offers various ready-made commands, and if you know to program, you can also build your own commands. On the other hand, the Window menu presents a listing of all of Fireworks’ panels and toolbars. You can consider it your interface repository by clicking on any of the options in this menu to bring up the corresponding panel or pop-up.
You can get advice and knowledge from the Help menu. The Fireworks 8 manual is available in HTML format. You can use the Pen tool to seek answers to queries about drawing the Bezier curves. You can also get online help from the Fireworks Help Center and share your thoughts on the Macromedia Online Forums.
If you want to improve your Fireworks skills, you should visit the forums on a regular basis and perform your tasks related to web designing efficiently.
