Kaspersky WildfireDecryptor is a tiny tool developed for Windows PCs to recover files encrypted by the Wildfire ransomware. Wildfire is mainly spread by unsolicited emails with changed headers posing as shipping companies. Wildfire infiltrates a victim’s computer and encrypts principally Microsoft documents and PDF files, changing the file extensions with WFLX.
Wildfire malware deletes all Shadow Volume Copies on the system, making file recovery from earlier system restore point backups difficult. By defining the devices to be scanned, such as hard drives, portable discs, or network volumes, the Kaspersky WildfireDecryptor application assists users in locating the encryption key for infected files. Furthermore, users may configure the software to remove infected files from their Windows PC after the decryption key has been detected and the data recovered.
To avoid further infections, users should remove the Wildfire executable from the %LocalAppData% folder. Kaspersky WildfireDecryptor can enable the recovery of encrypted data in the case of a ransomware infection.
