Installing OptiFine 1.17.1 in Vanilla Minecraft (JE)
Step 1: Download the OptiFine installer and you will see a file “preview_OptiFine_1.17.1_HD_U_H2_pre1.jar”.
Step 2: Launch it & click Install.
Installing OptiFine 1.17.1 in Minecraft Forge
Step 1: Download OptiFine and you will see the file “preview_OptiFine_1.17.1_HD_U_H2_pre1.jar”. Move it into the “Local Disk (C:) > Users > (Your PC Name) > AppData > Roaming > .minecraft > mods” folder.
Uninstalling OptiFine 1.17.1
If you have installed OptiFine into vanilla Minecraft (JE) then you can uninstall OptiFine 1.17.1 through the Minecraft Launcher. Go into the Versions tab then click on the three dots and from the drop-down menu click Uninstall.
To uninstall OptiFine from the Minecraft Forge version go to the mods folder in Minecraft’s directory and delete the “preview_OptiFine_1.17.1_HD_U_H2_pre1.jar” file.
