OptiFine 1.15.2 is an older version of the OptiFine mod released for Minecraft Java Edition v1.15.2. It is a stable release, unlike the latest OptiFine which is mostly in a preview (beta) state. OptiFine v1.15.2 supports Forge as it is a stable release. OptiFine v1.15.2 is also the version that first introduced “enabling anisotropic filtering with shaders”. If you are still on Minecraft (JE) v1.15.2 but for some reason, you cannot update Minecraft or OptiFine then we recommend downloading OptiFine v1.15.2.
OptiFine improves Minecraft Java Edition’s performance by optimizing Minecraft’s standard coding. It adds options like FPS boost, FPS control, configurable animations & details, faster math, etc. These options help it boost performance. Installing OptiFine 1.15.2 in Vanilla Minecraft (JE)
Step 1: Download the OptiFine installer and you will see a file “OptiFine_1.15.2_HD_U_G6.jar”.
Step 2: Launch it & click Install.
Installing OptiFine 1.15.2 in Minecraft Forge
Step 1: Download OptiFine and you will see the file “OptiFine_1.15.2_HD_U_G6.jar”. Move it into the “Local Disk (C:) > Users > (Your PC Name) > AppData > Roaming > .minecraft > mods” folder.
Uninstalling OptiFine 1.15.2
If you have installed OptiFine into vanilla Minecraft (JE) then you can uninstall OptiFine 1.15.2 through the Minecraft Launcher. Go into the Versions tab then click on the three dots and from the drop-down menu click Uninstall.
To uninstall OptiFine from the Minecraft Forge version go to the mods folder in Minecraft’s directory and delete the “OptiFine_1.15.2_HD_U_G6.jar” file.
