Iris Shaders is an open-source mod for loading shaders into Minecraft. It works smoothly with all the older OptiFine shader packs and also includes Sodium in its installer. Sodium is a performance optimization mod that is built to counteract the performance/FPS loss when running demanding shaders. Paired together these mods enhance both visuals and FPS in Minecraft better than OptiFine.
Iris Shaders Minecraft mod is available to download for free on Windows PCs and supports Minecraft Java Edition, Minecraft Bedrock Edition is not supported. When it comes to mod loaders, both Fabric Mod Loader and Quilt Mod Loader are supported by the Iris Shaders mod. It is also worth noting that the Iris mod does not support the Forge mod loader.

How to Download & Install Iris Shaders
Step 1: Download the latest version of Iris Shaders from the top of this page.
Step 2: Launch the downloaded Jar (Java JRE) file. If you plan on running mods along Iris Shaders then select the “Fabric Install” and “Installation Type“, otherwise select “Iris Install“.
Step 3: Launch the new Iris-Fabric-Loader profile in Minecraft Java Edition and navigate to Video Settings, If the Settings menu looks different than before then Iris Shaders is working.
