Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) is the eleventh and final web browser that Microsoft developed. IE11 was released on October 17, 2013, but now it’s retired because its successor Microsoft Edge has taken its place. It was available for Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and Windows 10 and supported both 32-bit and 640bit operating systems.

Internet Explorer 11, which is now designated an “OS component,” is dependent on the version of Windows on which it is installed. Microsoft continues to provide updates for Internet Explorer 11 on the majority of Windows systems that are still available.

Internet Explorer download 64-bit Mode is a Microsoft Edge feature that allows displaying web pages utilizing the Trident layout engine and other important components from Internet Explorer 11. The underlying technology of Internet Explorer 11 is partially available with IE Mode on Windows versions that do not support IE11 as a standalone application. Microsoft has stated that IE Mode will be supported until at least 2029, with a one-year warning before this form of Internet Explorer 11 is retired.

IE11 provides enhanced developer tools, WebGL support, high DPI scaling, and prerender and prefetch. Internet Explorer 11 received HTTP/2 support after its release. IE11 also has Full Screen and Orientation API support, CSS border image support, JavaScript enhancements, DOM mutation observers, Web Cryptography API support, video text track support, encrypted media support, and a better HTML editor.

In IE11, the default protocol for secure communications is Transport Layer Security v1.2, whereas the RC4 cipher suite is deprecated. The developer toolkit’s “document mode” function (F12), to aid with compatibility testing, mimics the rendering behavior of Internet Explorer versions 5 through 10.

In a November 2013 SitePoint evaluation, IE11 outperformed Google Chrome 30 and Firefox 26 in WebKit’s SunSpider and Google’s WebGL tests. It tied for first place with Chrome in Microsoft’s “fish aquarium” WebGL benchmark and finished last in Google’s V8 performance benchmark. With multiple tabs open, IE11 was also found to use less memory than current versions of Chrome and Firefox.

SitePoint standardized IE11 again in its revision for Microsoft Edge in August 2015, along with Chrome 44, Edge 12, and Firefox 39. IE11 placed last in Apple’s JetStream (which succeeded SunSpider) and Google’s Octane (which became V8) tests, but was second in Microsoft’s “fish aquarium” test, trailing only Edge.

Microsoft’s browser is dependable and quick but if you are looking for more latest browsers with more features then alternative programs to Internet Explorer 10 that you can try are Microsoft EdgeMozilla FirefoxChromeApple SafariOpera, and Brave.
