How To Fix CS: GO FPS Drops Problem
You can try the below fixes to boost FPS in CSGO.
Fix 1. Change Console Command
Although it’s a temporary solution to fix the sudden CS: GO FPS drops issue but it has ha=elped many users.
- Go to Game settings in options.
- Enable console.
- Go back in-game and press the tilde key.
- A command console will appear on your screen.
- Type logaddress_add 1 here and press Enter.
In a few minutes, this command will reset the frame rate. However, it’s a short-time solution, you have to repeat it when the FPS drops again.
Fix 2. Modify the graphics settings in CS:GO
If you haven’t already set the graphics setting to low then it is time to do so. Sometimes the high graphics settings cause CSGO FPS drops problem.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open Settings in CS:GO.
- Go to Options > Video Settings.
- In the advanced video options section, set these settings to Low: Global Shadow Quality, Model / Texture Detail, Effect Detail, Shader Detail.

Fix 3. Check For Software Conflict

Fix 4. Update Device Drivers

Fix 5. Verify Integrity of Game Files
If you are playing CSGO using Steam and the FPS drops randomly, then it may be because the game files on Steam are corrupted.
Verify the game file on steam, here’s how:
- Open Steam in your computer
Click Library in Steam. - Right click on CS:GO, then click Properties.
- Click the Local files tab, and click Verify integrity of game files.

Fix 6. Disable Game DVR in Xbox
By default Windows 10 enables DVR in the Xbox app that causes incompatibility with running games.

- Click the Gear button on the left to open Settings.

Fix 7. Turn off Recording or Streaming Program
If you are running in-game recording or streaming software then you also need to remove it from your PC.

Fix 8. Make sure that GPU Fans are Running
Al a precautionary measure you also need to check whether GPU fans are up and running and at ideal speed.
If the GPU fans are broken then the system will throttle it down to prevent damage from overheating.
You can also check the GPU temp and see it running at the ideal temp range.
If you find any anomaly then as a next step use GPU fan control software to change the fan speed manually.
If you increase the fan speed and see that temperatures are not normal then it may be a fault with your GPU fan.
