There are various new mechanics in the new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which allows players to have a unique experience in the game. One of the new mechanics is the Wash & Clean Mechanic in which players will be able to wash the Pokémon in their Current Party. Washing the Pokémon gives a decent amount of EXP as well as increases the Friendship Level.

How to Wash Your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Washing mechanic wash is shown in the reveal trailer and players have been trying to do this in the game to earn extra EXP as well as make a stronger bond with their caught Pokémon. However, if you have just started the game and still going through the starting classes of the Prologue, you will not be able to do it because it requires the “Picnic Mode” to be unlocked.

After you have completed the Prologue of the game, you will unlock the Picnic Mode and you will be able to wash your Pokémon through the following steps.

You need to start the Picnic on a Flat surface at any location in the Paldea Region.
Once the Picnic Table is set and all the Pokémon have come out of the Poke Ball, you need to go to the Pokémon that you want to Wash.
Stand in front of the Pokémon and you will see a menu on the left side of the screen. If the Menu is Off, then press the “– (Minus)” button to show the menu.
Press the “X” button to trigger the Wash mechanic.

Start the Wash Mechanic by standing in front/close of the Pokemon.

Once you have triggered the wash mechanic, the Pokémon you selected will stand in front of you and you will have a Sponge in your hand. You need to move the Sponge on the Pokémon body to remove the dirt and stains. In order to do that, you need to hold down the “A” button and use the Left Control Stick to move the Sponge.

Once you have removed the Dirt, the action will be complete and you will get the option to change the sponge to shower. You need to press the “Y” button to get the Shower Head. Now, you just need to wash your Pokémon to get it all clean and happy. For Washing, you also have to hold down the “A” button and then use the Left Control Stick to wash all of the Soap.
