Have you ever watched a video or movie and found a spot you would like to have an image, yes. Surprisingly, you can take a screenshot, capture frames of the position, and take a snapshot in the Potplayer by using a keyboard shortcut or by clicking on a Video Capture frame and taking consecutive images.

How to Change Snapshot or Screenshot Folder Location in Duam Potplayer

Where your saved images should be kept in PotPlayer?

So, firstly, let’s figure out the default location where saved images should be kept. Just follow the below steps.

  • Open the Potplayer.
  • In the top left corner, click on it and go to preferences, or simply press F5 on the home screen of PotPlayer to open the preferences.

  • The Preferences window will be opened > Go to the Location.
  • On the Right side, Go to Image & click on it to expand and select the default location where images are to be saved.

  • When you click on the expansion, choose the default location. (I created a folder named Pot Player screenshots).
Set the folder to save screenshots taken from PotPlayer.
  • Then Click on Apply and Ok, respectively.

How to take screenshots, snapshots, capture frames, or perform screen capture with PotPlayer

You can take screenshots, snapshot, capture frames, or perform screen capture with PotPlayer by using a keyboard shortcut. Following are the keyboard shortcuts key that you need to know.

  • Ctrl + E: To save the current source frame to the default Image location
  • Ctrl + Alt + E: To save the current screen frame to the default Image location

There are other methods you can take screenshots, snapshot, capture frames or perform screen capture with PotPlayer, it’s either you use capture thumbnail image (Alt + N), capture consecutive images (Ctrl + G), capture current screen frame (Ctrl + Alt + C) or capture current source frame (Ctrl + C).

1. Capture a Thumbnail image

Just follow the steps to capture thumbnail images.

  • Open the Potplayer and run the video or movie in which you want to capture the thumbnail image.
  • Click on K on the keyboard > Click on capture thumbnail image OR press Alt + N as a shortcut key.
  • A new window will appear, Thumbnail Image creator, then you could select the format (JPEG, PNG, and others), change the default location, and change the width and height of the image.
  • Click on OK.

2. Capture Consecutive Images

Follow the below steps to capture consecutive images.

  • Open the Pot player and run the video or movie in which you want to capture the thumbnail image.
  • Click on K on the keyboard > Click on capture thumbnail image OR press Ctrl + G as a shortcut key.
  • A new window will appear, Consecutive Image Capture, then you could select the format (JPEG, PNG, and others), change the default location, and change the width and height of the image.
  • Select timing between images, and enter the number of images to be captured.
  • Click on Start.

3. Capture the current source frame to Clipboard (Ctrl + C)

  • Open the Potplayer and run the video or movie in which you want to capture the thumbnail image.
  • Click on K on the keyboard > Click on capture current source frame OR press Ctrl + C as a hotkey.
  • Go to any image or picture editor or viewer and paste, for example, you can make use of Microsoft Paint.

4. Current screen frame (Ctrl + Alt + C)

  • Open the Potplayer and run the video or movie in which you want to capture the thumbnail image.
  • Click K on the keyboard > Click on capture current screen frame OR press Ctrl + Alt + C as a shortcut key.
  • Go to any image or picture editor or viewer and paste, for example, you can make use of Microsoft Paint.
